James Voller verwendet als Technik auf der einen Seite die Dokumentarfotografie als auch fotografische Überlagerungen. Seine früheren Arbeiten zielten darauf ab gesellschaftliches Wachstum und Entwicklung in Neuseeland zu kommentieren. In seiner derzeitigen Werkphase beschäftigt er sich damit, wie Baukörper und Konstruktionen den Wechsel innerhalb der Gesellschaft abbilden können und dadurch ein Indikator für wirtschaftliche, politische und soziale Trends sind. In der Ausstellung Homely/Unheimlich werden sowohl Fotos, die die Veränderungen in seinem neuseeländischen und, durch den „artist-in-residence-Aufenthalt“ ermöglichten, österreichischen Lebensumfeld abbilden, als auch großformatige fotografische Interventionen zu sehen sein.

Adelina Popnedelevas Videoinstallation “Fresh”, zeigt in einem Porträt eines jungen Mannes, was in den Übergangsjahren vom Sozialismus zur Demokratie in Bulgarien passierte. Amüsiert, attraktiv und zynisch beherrscht der junge Protagonist die Sprache und die Zeichen eines nichtoffiziellen Systems und dadurch erscheint er als fiktiver Charakter. Das Modell, das er anstrebt,  ist der “neue Held” – ein Geschäftsmann mit halb-krimineller, halb-parvenuehafter Lebensweise. Da er den Weg einer erfolgreichen Integration in die kapitalistische Gesellschaft eingeschlagen hat, verkörpert es das Bild der modernen  Konsumkultur, wo Freiheit auf das Recht reduziert ist, ein Kunde zu sein.
